SGB0001 device is used for bypassing the SGW module in compatible FCA cars, in which SGW exist as separate module nearby OBD or BCM*.

It unlocks the option of full diagnostics carried out with the use of 3rd party OBD tools in independent garages. At the time of writing, the bypass device supports following makes/models:

  • Alfa Romeo: Giulia, Stelvio (NAFTA: 2.2018+/EMEA 4.2018+ production including MY2020-25)

  • Jeep: Renegade, Compass, Wrangler, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee

  • Fiat: 500L, 500X, Doblo, Ducato

  • Dodge: Challenger, Charger, Durango

  • RAM: 1500

  • Chrysler: 200, 300

  • Maserati Ghibli, Levante, Quattroporte

Customers who would like to easily switch between SGW and bypass, may consider SGW loom extensions set we offer, and most complete here is dual set (two pairs), which allow most flexibility.

*SGWs were introduced first since 2017/2018 into some of newer FCA/Stellantis cars (depends on model) as external module. Such can be bypassed and looms extended if required. However, since 2021 production, some completely newly designed models (not minor facelifts, mean new designs like e.g. Alfa Romeo Tonale) got SGW built into BCM (Body Computer), and such are not supported by our bypass solutions.

The device is covered by 2 years of warranty.

It is manufactured using top quality/brand components offering high reliability. Each unit is fully tested on automated tester during production.

User/installation manual included.

Instrukcja SGB0001

Note: we can't predict if offered SGW bypass will be compatible with cars manufactured in future. We are trying to track available information and update this website about all important compatibility information. However, we already found that all official service schematics and product list documentaitons we have access to are not mentioning at all any details about SGWs in new designed cars, where we know SGW is built into BCM (e.g. Alfa Romeo Tonale). Thats why we are not in position to advise what type of SGW some of car may have, and we can only hint on how to find out:

In case OBD diagnostic tool scan or proxi list confirms presence of SGW, and external SGW module with 12 and 8 pin connectors can't be physically located around OBD or BCM, and the car is new model 2021+, it is likely, SGW is built in and this product won't be compatible (e.g. Alfa Romeo Tonale, Maserati Grecale).

We receive a lot of pre-sale questions from customers who are not sure if they can install bypass permanently instead of SGW. We inform, that it is possible, however SGW which was meant to be some level of cybersecurity protection is then gone. However, SGW itself over years rather proven that it is more an obstacle for users rather than for e.g. thieves (thefts via radar loom), so it is upon customer decision to bypass permanently. Our bypass is manufactured to be roboust, quality and trouble free, so potentially good for permenent use (we know a lot of customers decided to use permanently bypass and have no issues), but officially we sell it as only for diagnostics use. Please note, that most of OBD tools on market (including dealer's Witech2 tools) work fine with bypass, and all diagnostics, updates, service can be done no problem. However from what we know, Bosch tools after particular car VIN decoding, if they discover SGW should be present, they will get stuck during connection trying to unlock SGW (not present anymore if bypass is in) instead of allowing to go forward with diagnostics (this is at least 2024/25 situation and applied to OBD testers and ADAS calibrators) - for Bosch tools putting back connections to SGW is then required to move forward and allow to use such tool. Other tools like Texa, Autel, Launch, XTool did not have problems with working through bypass from what we know for sure or heard from customers.
